World Book  and  Copyright Day 2023

The day is celebrated by UNESCO and other affiliated organisations across the world on April 23

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization organized the first World Book Day on April 23,1995.

World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated annually on April 23 to honour the value of books as a bridge between the past and the present or as a means of bridging generations and cultures.

On this day are the birth and death anniversaries of a number of notable authors.

The celebration will focus on "Indigenous Languages" this year.

The day is meant to inspire people to read and adore books.

Accra, Ghana, will serve as the year 2023's World Book Capital.
